Advice for one who is afflicted with illness when mentioning Allah or His Messenger

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
From Taiz, Yemen. This is a message sent by a brother of ours from there. He says: Muhammad Hasan 'Abd al-'Alim. Our brother says in his message: I am twenty-three years old, a student who has graduated from high school. I have been diligent in my prayers and do not leave any obligatory prayer, and I have been fasting since I was a child. After high school, I was afflicted with an illness. When this illness takes hold of me, I am unable to read the Noble Qur'an. If I see one of the names of Allah or one of the names of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), or if someone mentions the name of Allah or swears by Allah, I notice disturbing things in myself that I cannot detail. I have treated myself with more than twelve doctors, and my condition remains as I described to you. Now I turn to Allah, then to you, hoping that you will prescribe a remedy that will be effective. May Allah reward you with good?
Answer: I ask Allah for your healing and well-being from all evil. We advise you to increase in the remembrance of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) (Glorified and Exalted is He), and to ask Him (Mighty and Majestic) to grant you well-being. He is the One who said :
Call upon Me; I will respond to you.ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ
[Surat al-Furqan: 60], and He is the One who said (Glorified and Exalted is He):
And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Meوَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ
[Surat al-Baqarah: 186].
So we advise you, my brother, to be humble before Allah and ask Him to grant you well-being and healing at the end of the prayer, before you say the closing salam, in the prostration. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The nearest a servant come to his Lord is when he is prostrating himself, so make supplication often.أقرب ما يكون العبد من ربه وهو ساجد فأكثروا الدعاء
Sunan Abi Dawud 875Sahih (Al-Albani)
Likewise, in the last part of the night, you pray in the last part of the night and ask your Lord, or in the middle of the night, between the adhan and the iqamah. All these are times in which a response is hoped for.
We advise you to be persistent in supplication, earnest in supplication, and sincere in supplication, along with weeping if that is possible. Be glad of good and well-being. If something occurs to you when hearing the Qur'an, say: "I believe in Allah and His messengers." If whispers occur to you, or when hearing the remembrance of Allah or the remembrance of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), say: "I believe in Allah and His messengers, I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed:
That in the last of time there will be people who ask shameful questions, saying: "This is Allah who created everything, so who created Allah?" And they see whispers, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advised them that if they find this, they should say, one of them should say: "I believe in Allah and His messengers," and that they should seek refuge in Allah and stop.
.
So you, too, if these whispers occur to you when you hear the Qur'an or the remembrance of Allah, or when you hear the name of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or his hadiths, you say: "I believe in Allah and His messengers, I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan," and you repeat that, and you are sincere in it, and you ask your Lord for well-being from this illness in times in which a response is hoped for, as mentioned before, such as the last part of the night, between the adhan and the iqamah, at the end of the prayer before the salam, between the two prostrations. We ask Allah for your healing and well-being from all evil.
The presenter: O Allah, amen.
