A benefit derived from the hadith: "Actions are only by intentions"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And it is amazing that there is a hadith that is hardly hidden from anyone among the students of knowledge, but it appears, and Allah knows best, that when they cite it, they cite it only for a specific occasion, yet they do not understand the great jurisprudence contained in it, such as the issue we are discussing now. I mean his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
The (reward of) deeds, depend upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for the sake of Allah and His Apostle, then his emigration will be considered to be for Allah and His Apostle, and whoever emigrated for the sake of worldly gain or for a woman to marry, then his emigration will be considered to be for what he emigrated for.
Sahih al-Bukhari 6689
. When the Companions of the Prophet migrated from Makkah to al-Madinah, they migrated from a land of greater virtue to a land of lesser virtue. So the criterion is not the land, but the people. They migrated from the land of Allah, Makkah, which is the most beloved of Allah’s lands to Allah and the most beloved of Allah’s lands to the Messenger of Allah. Why? Because his migration from Makkah to al-Madinah involved obedience to Allah and His Messenger. And this obedience, or this migration, was not closed off in Islam like jihad in the path of Allah. But there is no doubt that it differs... as we detailed the issue in a recent session with a good brother of ours, may Allah will it, and there was some discussion and argumentation with one of the Palestinians present, but unfortunately he did not... and did not... in the research, but rather he avoided delving into it. So his migration to what he migrated to, meaning he and his intention. We ask Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to inspire us with guidance, to give us understanding in our religion, and to inspire us to act upon what we have learned. Here is Abu Anas.
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : It seems the drowsiness has overcome you a little from your fatigue.
The student : No, Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student : I see something moving; it appears to be a star or something.

The Shaykh : No, it is not a star; a star does not move... it is an airplane.
The student : A satellite.

The Shaykh : Or a satellite.
The student : An airplane, not...

The Shaykh : How?
The student : ... I thought it was a meteor... It was on... it would be at supersonic speed, not like this.
