The Permissibility of Fasting on Mondays and Thursdays

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Here is a message, and I hope there is enough time left in the program for it. It is from Iraq and says: Is there anything reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that confirms his fasting on Mondays and Thursdays of every week, throughout the year?
Answer: Yes, it is established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he used to fast on Mondays and Thursdays and say:
Those are two days in which deeds are shown to the Lord of the worlds, and I like my deeds to be shown (to Him) when I am fasting.إنهما يومان تعرض فيهما الأعمال على الله، فأحب أن يعرض عملي وأنا صائم
Sunan an-Nasa'i 2358Hasan (Darussalam)
It was narrated by Muslim in the Sahih. Sometimes he was occupied with other matters during certain times... breaking the fast due to engagements such as guests or otherwise, and then he would continue fasting afterwards, as Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to observe fast (so continuously) that we (were inclined) to say that he would not break (them) and did not observe them so conti- nuously) that we (were inclined to say) that he would not observe fast.كان النبي ﷺ يصوم حتى نقول: لا يفطر، ويفطر حتى نقول: لا يصوم
Sahih Muslim 1157c
And it was also reported from Ibn Abbas and others, indicating this meaning, namely that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes continue fasting because he had become free to do so, and sometimes he would continue breaking the fast for reasons that occupied him from fasting. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to fast on Mondays and Thursdays, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
