Ways to Make Children Happy

If a father or mother, or both parents together, want their children to be happy and joyful, what do you advise them to do, if you please, O Shaykh?
Answer: They should use whatever brings them joy from the good hadiths, such as taking them to nice gardens or nice land, if they have a nice garden, or to a nice place where there is no evil. They should buy them things that please them, such as Islamic tapes that benefit them, meaning those containing good sermons and good admonitions, and useful poetry that calls to good and to leaving evil, and the like of what pleases their children and benefits them without leading them into forbidden things. The people of good seek out the paths of good that open the chests and illuminate the hearts, and through which good enjoyment and pleasantness are obtained, without what Allah has forbidden. Yes.
