Question:
It is narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: “There is no suitable match for a Qurayshi woman except a Qurayshi man?”
Answer:
It has no authenticity. The authentic view is what Allah said: [Surah al-Hujurat: 13].
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Usamah ibn Zayd al-Kilabi, who was a freed slave, to Fatimah bint Qays, who was a Qurayshi woman. Her father, Zayd, married Zaynab bint Jahsh, who was Asadi on her father’s side and... on her mother’s side, Zayd ibn Harithah al-Kilabi married her, and he was also a freed slave.
And Bilal al-Habashi, the freed slave of al-Siddiq, married the sister of 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf, who was a Qurayshi woman from the Banu Zuhrah.
So the point is: that the matter in this case relates to religion and morals.
