The Concept of Compatibility in Marriage

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the correct concept of compatibility in your view? And is the intended meaning of "goodness in this world" the righteous woman?

Answer:
Compatibility in this matter is in religion and freedom, according to the scholars. This is the most correct of what has been said, as Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said:
O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of youيَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ وَأُنْثَى وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ شُعُوبًا وَقَبَائِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوا إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ
[Al-Hujurat: 13]. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Indeed, Allah has removed from you the arrogance of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance and its boasting about fathers. People are the sons of Adam, and Adam was created from dust. There is no preference for an Arab over a non-Arab, nor for a non-Arab over an Arab, except by taqwa (mindfulness of Allah).إن الله أذهب عنكم عبية الجاهلية وفخرها بالآباء، الناس بنو آدم، وآدم خلق من تراب، لا فرق لعربي على عجمي، ولا لعجمي على عربي إلا بالتقوى
Therefore, it is not befitting for a believer to be concerned with boasting about his lineage, or the status of his fathers, or his wealth, or the like. The Arab is compatible with the non-Arab, and compatible with the freed slave.
As for if he is a slave, a captive owned by someone; then this may harm her if she marries him, except after her knowledge. If she sees that and chooses that; then there is no harm.

The intended meaning: That the most important thing in this is religion, it is the religion in which good is gathered and evil is removed
Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of youإِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ
[Al-Hujurat: 13]. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Fatimah bint Qays -who was Qurayshi- to her husband Usamah, his freed slave -Usamah ibn Zayd ibn Harithah, his freed slave-. And her father Zayd married Zaynab bint Jahsh al-Asadiyyah, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married her after him. And he married 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf -who was a Qurayshi from the Banu Zuhrah- to Bilal the Abyssinian freed slave, marrying him his sister from the Banu Zuhrah. And Abu Hudhayfah ibn 'Utbah ibn Rabi'ah married his freed slave Salim, the freed slave of Abu Hudhayfah, marrying him his sister's daughter al-Walid ibn 'Utbah, and they are the noblest of Quraysh.

The intended meaning: That these are matters that it is not befitting for people of intellect to look at from the side of lineages, and rather the great and important observation is in what concerns compatibility in religion, and the uprightness of the husband and wife. If the religion is upright; then this is what is sought.
