The ruling on considering enjoining good and forbidding evil as the sixth pillar of Islam

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is enjoining good and forbidding evil considered the sixth pillar of Islam?

Answer:
It is not the sixth pillar, but some scholars have said: it is the sixth. They included it with the two testimonies, prayer, zakah, fasting, and Hajj, and said: it is the sixth because of the greatness of its matter and the greatness of its benefit. It is a great obligation and a great duty upon the Muslims, but it is not a sixth pillar; because people do not legislate. The Legislator is Allah through His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) informed that Islam is built on five, so no one has the right to add ... and he has no right to intervene in this. This belongs to Allah and to His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
