Question:
A man is living next to me now, and he has eight children. His wife is currently pregnant, and she says: I want to abort this fetus. Is this permissible?

The Shaykh : What does she say?

The student: He says: The children, I have eight now, they are enough for us. The one in her belly, do I have to abort it for her sake?

Answer:
This varies. If it is within the first forty days, and it causes her harm, then there is no harm in aborting it within the first forty days. But after that, it is not permissible.

Question : If it is, for example, Shaykh, one month, two months?

Answer: Not one month, only the first forty days.
