The ruling on the imam if he adds to the prayer and only one person alerts him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
If the imam adds to the prayer, and no one stops him, but one person recites tasbih, and the imam does not turn to him, and he does not perform the prostration for forgetfulness, what should the imam and the follower do?

Answer:
If the imam adds to the prayer, and no one alerts him, or one person alerts him and he does not heed him—believing that he is correct—or more than one person alerts him and he believes that he is correct; then there is no issue, his prayer is valid, and their prayers are valid. The one who knows that it is an addition does not stand with him if he stands for a fifth rak'ah in the midday, afternoon, or night prayer, or for a fourth in the sunset prayer, or for a third in the dawn or Friday prayer, knowing that it is an addition. The one who knows it is an addition does not stand; he sits and alerts him while sitting. If the imam returns, fine; otherwise, he waits for him and concludes the prayer with him. It is not permissible for the imam to return if he believes that he is correct and that the one who alerted him is mistaken; he does not return.
As for if he is in doubt, but only one person alerts him; he is not obligated to return for one person; he proceeds; because the silence of the others is evidence that he is correct. If two or more alert him, he returns.

Question: : If the imam makes a mistake in something of his prayer, and some of the followers recite tasbih, and he stands to perform what he left, and others recite tasbih, and he becomes confused about his situation, what should he say to the followers, and what should the imam do?

Answer : He should signal the imam according to his current state: if he is bowing, he says:
O you who have believed, bowيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ارْكَعُوا
[Al-Hajj 22:77]
; if he is prostrating:
And prostrate and draw nearوَاسْجُدْ وَاقْتَرِبْ
; and he says something like:
So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him].فَاسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ وَاعْبُدُوا
[An-Najm 53:62]
, signaling him with something that conveys the meaning; and if he is standing, he says:
and stand before Allah, devoutly obedient.وَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ قَانِتِينَ
[Al-Baqarah 2:238]
, meaning he signals him with a verse appropriate to the situation so that the imam becomes aware.
