What is the advice for those who do not have a good opinion of people?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some of the students of knowledge who attend these lessons do not return the greeting, and in fact, they do not even return the greeting to other students of knowledge who regularly attend these lessons, even though we have only known good about these people, and no evil has appeared from them. If these people have based this action of theirs on certainty, verification, and proof, then let them clarify this to us so that the purpose of advice, reminder, and forbidding evil is achieved. But if they have based their action on illusions, conjectures, and suspicions, then we hope that advice will be directed to them, O Shaykh?

Answer:
It is obligatory for the believer to have a good opinion of his brother, to cooperate with him in righteousness and piety, and to advise one another to truth and patience. This is the obligation of everyone, as Allah the Exalted said:
The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothersإِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ
[Surah al-Hujurat: 10] And He the Exalted said:
The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrongوَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ
[Surah al-Tawbah: 71] And He the Exalted said:
(1) By time, (2) Indeed, mankind is in loss, (3) Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.
[Surah al-Asr: 1-3] And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said when he was asked: "Which of Islam is the best?" He said:
That you provide food and extend greetings to one whom you know or do not know.أن تطعم الطعام، وتقرأ السلام على من عرفت ومن لم تعرف
Sahih Muslim 39
So it is obligatory to love for the sake of Allah, to cooperate in good, to advise one another to truth and patience, and to beware of the causes of Allah's anger.
