The Ruling on a Woman Visiting the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) Grave

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I read to you the prohibition of a woman visiting the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) grave, considering the generality of the prohibition. And I read in *al-Rawd al-Murba'* in the book of funerals, where it states: “Except for women, for whom it is disliked to visit them,” meaning graves other than his (peace and blessings be upon him). We hope for your comment, and that you make du'a for us..?

Answer:
This exception has no basis. It is the statement of some of the Hanbalis and others: “Except for the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the graves of his two companions, for women may visit them.” This has no basis. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) generalized the cursing of women who visit graves absolutely. So they do not visit the grave of the Prophet, nor any grave other than the grave of the Prophet. But they send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in every place.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
and do not make my grave a place of festivity. But invoke blessings on me, for your blessings reach me wherever you may be.لا تجعلوا قبري عيدًا، وصلوا علي، فإن صلاتكم تبلغني حيث كنتم
Sunan Abi Dawud 2042Sahih (Al-Albani)
So they send blessings upon him (peace and blessings be upon him) in their homes, on the road, in his mosque (peace and blessings be upon him), and in every place. There is no need to visit the grave, nor the other graves. They make du'a for the deceased and seek mercy for them, and there is no need for visiting.
As for the man, he visits, makes du'a, and sends blessings upon the Prophet in every place—(may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him)—he sends blessings upon him in his home, on the road, in the mosque, while traveling, while residing, in the airplane, in the car, in the train, and in every place. He increases in sending blessings upon him (peace and blessings be upon him):
Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.
[Al-Ahzab: 56] This includes both men and women in every place.
And he said—(may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him)—:
Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah sends blessings upon him ten times.من صل علي واحدة؛ صلى الله عليه بها عشرًا
So you increase in sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in every place. And likewise, women increase in sending blessings and peace upon the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in every place, just as everyone increases in the remembrance of Allah, saying: Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illa Allah, and Allahu Akbar in every place. This is how one sends blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
These are righteous deeds that the believer says and performs in his mosque, on his road, in his home, in the airplane, in the air, in the car, in the train, in the ship, in every place. He has his work and a great reward in that for his tasbih, tahlil, tahmid, takbir, seeking forgiveness, and his sending blessings and peace upon his Messenger—(may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him).
