How to Balance Raising Children with a Second Wife

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your Eminence, you know that a husband faces many obstacles in caring for his sons, who are influenced by the customs of society, from school, the street, and what they hear from their peers who have been affected by the media and its means, as well as the disbelieving servant, the disbelieving driver, and the disbelieving nanny. There are also the emergence of wrongs such as sodomy, abandoning prayer, and lying, among other things. This requires the father to follow up on his children day by day. So how can he balance raising his sons, following up on them, and correcting them, while living with his second wife in a separate residence, away from his children, for a week or more, in order to achieve justice between the wives? We ask your Eminence for a ruling on this matter?

Answer:
I have not heard Allah say:
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[Al-Taghabun:16],
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacityلَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا
[Al-Baqarah:286]. He should fear Allah as much as he can in raising his children, and in encouraging his brothers and uncles to help him, along with his older sons, in raising the younger ones. He should cooperate with their mothers, his brothers, his uncles, and their maternal uncles, so that he raises them with an Islamic upbringing
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[Al-Taghabun:16].
The Muslim should cooperate in righteousness and piety, and exert his utmost effort in that. This is a time of estrangement. You, my brother, are now in the time of estrangement; we are in the age of estrangement,
Islam began as something strange and will go back to being strangeبدأ الإسلام غريبًا، وسيعود غريبًا كما بدأ
Sunan Ibn Majah 3986Sahih (Darussalam)
.
The types of evil are innumerable in every land, and in lands other than this one, there is even more. In this land, there is much evil, and in others, there is even more evil. So you are now in the time of estrangement. You must fear Allah, strive as much as you can, and work for reform as much as you can. It is not marrying a second wife that prevents this reform.
