Ruling on a Muslim contributing to the construction of a church

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We worked for a company, and its engineer was Christian. One day he asked us for a sum of money to donate toward building a church, and we did so. What is your opinion on this?

Answer:
This is a great evil. This is not permissible. They must repent to Allah . Some scholars consider this to be disbelief and apostasy—may Allah protect us—because it is assisting in establishing disbelief. Therefore, it is obligatory for the one who did this to repent to Allah, return to Him , feel remorse, abandon the act, and not return to such a thing.
