Discussion on the trial of magnetic hypnosis, summoning spirits, and summoning jinn

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : I say that every era has its trial, and trials take many forms and types. We all remember the trial of magnetic hypnosis, and how much deception and misguidance occurred in hypnosis; I think there is no disagreement on this. Then that phase ended, and the phase of summoning spirits came, and some scholars of Al-Azhar got involved in it, led by Tantawi Juwairy, who wrote a specific book on the types of spirits. He attended sessions where he summoned the spirit of Harun al-Rashid, and based on this summoning, he wrote a thesis in exoneration. Whom did he exonerate from the family of Harun al-Rashid?
The student : His sister.

The Shaykh : His sister, is that not right?
The student : His sister, yes.

The Shaykh : You have done well.
The student : With Yahya al-Barmaki.

The Shaykh : Yes, well done.
So he wrote a thesis as a result of the session he attended in defense of Harun al-Rashid’s sister, who was accused of being with one of the Barmakids. And so on. I attended a session in my time, and I am afraid to repeat it. It was a session for summoning a jinn, and the deception became completely apparent. In one session, the misguidance and delusion of people through various methods became clear. It is a long story, and we do not want to waste time on it. The lights were turned off after reciting "La ilaha illa Allah" one hundred times in the Sufi manner with a resonant voice. The host of the circle, whose name is Haqqi Bey, gave a signal there in Damascus, and it ended. The lights were turned off, a faint, pleasant red light, and silence. The session manager, who is this Haqqi, was surprised to say: "And upon you be peace and the mercy of Allah and His blessings."
The student : Meaning that he was present, meaning.

The Shaykh : We did not hear what? A greeting from anyone. Welcome, my colleague Haqqi, using the Syrian expression, he said to his master.
The student : The other deceiver.

The Shaykh: Huh?
The student : The second deceiver.

The Shaykh : The second deceiver. He said: "Welcome, Doctor." Haqqi Bey completed his speech, saying: "May Allah reward you with good for these sessions from which our clients benefit."
The student : And in the darkness, no one can see?

The Shaykh : No, there is nothing, it is a dim light, meaning. The important thing is there is a round table with numbers on it, and an upside-down cup. A woman enters, fully covered in the legal hijab, so nothing of her is seen. She sat opposite Haqqi. I later found out that he is her husband and she is his wife. The two of them place their fingers on the cup. We see the cup going back and forth, deluding the attendees that this movement is not from the two of them, but from the jinn or the spirit possessing this cup. Every little while, the cup moves over the numbers, stops, and records a prescription. Like this, for a full hour, several patients were treated. The first was a small child when his mother entered carrying him in her arms. Haqqi poses the question to the spirit, saying: "We have a child from such-and-such a neighborhood and such-and-such a house, nine months old." His mother jumps up and says: "No, Doctor, he is eleven months old." Do you know that mothers care about this aspect? That Nicollet whom we called Nicollet: "Be quiet, do you know me better than the Doctor?!" In summary, the session ended and the lights were turned on. The people present, and I was among them, of course. Each one of them says: "May you be well, Doctor, may Allah reward you with good." And I was almost bursting with anger from this session, which is nothing but deception. The man felt that I was silent and quiet. He said: "What do you think, I don't know, Professor?"The Shaykh : To him? I said to him: "By Allah, I have some questions if possible." He said: "Please, with pleasure." I said to him: "We heard you responding."
The student : Excuse me, my Shaykh, is Haqqi Turkish by origin?

The Shaykh : By Allah, Professor, I did not know him before, but one of our brothers from Latakia who used to attend my lessons when I went in the path of da'wah to Latakia, later settled in Damascus. So he came to me one day while I was in the Zahiriyyah Library, asking me about summoning spirits? I said to him: "This is modern deception." After a conversation between me and him, he says to me: "Do you want to attend a session?" I said to him: "By Allah, I am eager, because I have been reading and hearing about it for a long time but have not seen it." He said: "This Haqqi Bey is my relative, and he is his relative on his mother's side. He holds a session every Sunday." I said to him: "By Allah, I hope so." And he went and we went with him. So I do not know what he means, but. The word "Bey" is not hidden from you; it is from the Turkish legacy, meaning what they left in Syria. The point is, I said to him: "I heard you responding to the greeting, and we did not hear who gave the greeting?" He said: "It is the spirit." I said to him: "How did you hear the greeting and we did not?" He said: "This is the secret of the profession." I said to him: "How do you mean?" So I began to philosophize with him regarding the natural aspect, meaning your ear is not my ear, and my ear is not your ear, and the eardrum and the tympanum, and so on. All this is one thing, so it is not reasonable that you hear something we do not hear. Then your friend said: "Welcome, Doctor," so did he also hear? Then I approached him from a legal aspect that the grave is a garden from the gardens of Paradise or a pit from the pits of the Fire. If this spirit is righteous, by Allah, it will not leave the garden until it enters the torment of the world again. And if it is wicked, it will not be able to escape from its torment in the Fire. So how? Allah says:
and behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected. وَمِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ بَرْزَخٌ إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
[Al-Mu'minun 23:100]
There is no room for it. So he was silenced from this legal aspect and that rational aspect at the same time. So he ended the matter by saying: "By Allah, this is a medical session. We have a scientific session. If you want to attend it, I have no objection." I also said to him: "With pleasure." That night came, and glory to Allah, as Allah wills, we were at that time, me and Abd al-Rahman al-Bali. He was at that time deeply involved in religious lessons, and an opportunity arose for him to be involved in reforming the school books called religious education. So he spoke to me that we should hold sessions to purify these books first from weak and fabricated hadiths, and secondly from some jurisprudential sectarian opinions that contradict the correct Sunnah. So Abd al-Rahman surprised me at that time by saying it is necessary that we meet tonight. I said to him: "No objection, and this is more important to me than that session." My Latakian friend came so that we could go to the session, so I excused myself to him and said to him: "You go, but do not speak of my not wanting to attend, but offer an excuse." In summary, he went, and he was surprised to find that there was no one in the house at all, it was locked.
The student : On the scent.

The Shaykh : Huh?
The student : They fled on the scent.

The Shaykh : So he came to me the next day and told me the news. I said to him: "Good, if Allah wills. Go back to your relatives, and ignore my not being with you, and speak according to the promise that we came as we agreed, but we found the house locked, Haqqi Bey. Good, if Allah wills." And indeed he went, and he was surprised by what follows. He said to him: "This man you brought to me is a big Wahhabi. He does not love the Messenger, he does not pray upon the Messenger." He said to him: "How do you know? This is our Shaykh and our teacher. We attend his lessons in Latakia, and so on. There is no one who mentions the Messenger and prays upon him more than him." He said to me: "I, this is what Haqqi says, after you left, I summoned the spirit, and I asked the spirit aboutThe Shaykh : So he answered me with this answer. And if he is truthful, it means the devils are playing with him. And if he is lying, woe to him. Do you see how? And therefore... what is the phase? Magnetic hypnosis, then summoning spirits. Now you do not hear any focus on these sessions at all. What has replaced them now? The jinn.
The student : The expansion, my Shaykh. What has replaced them is the blameworthy expansion.

The Shaykh : We are talking about this reality.
The student : As for ruqyah, my Shaykh, you know it remains until the Hour.

The Shaykh : May Allah bless you. We are talking about this expansion. So we ask Allah for guidance.
The student : Where did the expansion come from? This is what the Shaykh indicated, that one replaces the other. The expansion came from two sides: from the people who seek livelihood first, and then the innovations that entered. Meaning, it is possible for a person seeking livelihood to have a correct beginning on the path.

The Shaykh: Yes.
The student : Then money tempts him.

The Shaykh: Yes, by Allah.
The student : And then, he says, correct, yes?
Another student: Allahu Akbar.
Another student: So this is where the exaggeration comes from. Therefore, if they could, well, this is not possible now. In fact, it has become very widespread, to the point that nowadays everyone tells you that whatever they are wearing is a jinn. On its own.

The Shaykh : There is no house, Professor, where they do not tell you that there is sorcery in it, or this or that.
