A discussion on the topic of spirit summoning.

The questioner : I claim that I have studied this science, as they claim it to be an independent field of study.
The Shaykh: All right.
The questioner : I would like, first, to begin with a simple critique, like the one I mentioned, which was stirred up by this topic. The medium is weak, and there is lying involved. As for his weakness, it is because he followed the following path... the table that... so the topic does not actually require... because they have a table like this with high branches, which allows dealing with the cup.
The Shaykh : I mean, this is part of the deception, so to speak.
The questioner : Exactly. Second, perhaps he asked about you, saying: "What is it?" or his guide, as they call him, so he answered with the answer you graciously provided. And there is a reason in reality for this answer; which is that often this guide, if this title is correct, gives...
The Shaykh : What do you mean by the guide?
The questioner : This is the doctor, just so I can clarify what the guide is.
The Shaykh: All right.
The questioner : Perhaps the guide sometimes gives what the person himself wants; why? Because the medium's psyche is not transparent as they claim, or this claim exists among them, and it is not in the realm of elevation to connect with higher spirits.
The Shaykh : What Allah willed! You are speaking Sufi talk now.
Another questioner : ... .
The Shaykh: Of course... .
The questioner : So in reality, my experience in this topic has made it a source of benefit in investigating and learning pure knowledge for the sake of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), if Allah wills, and perhaps it is good.
The Shaykh : ... .
The questioner : May it be good. These people claim that man is composed of two bodies; a body they call physical and metaphysical; matter and non-matter; they say that above every particle and every cell in the human body is exactly an etheric cell, so it is matter in a body that fully and completely shares in this body...
The Shaykh : I have the last phrase.
The questioner: Yes.
The Shaykh : Every part or every cell.
The questioner : Every cell has an etheric cell opposite it.
The Shaykh : Etheric means?
The questioner : I mean etheric... I mean a very transparent thing... transparent, subtle, intangible.
The Shaykh : How did they know this?
The questioner : I do not know.
The Shaykh : ... .
The questioner : ... .
The Shaykh : ... .
The questioner : And I remember...
The Shaykh : We want to record, or are you going to memorize it yourself...?
The questioner : No, of course I will speak, you record...
The Shaykh : No, if there is nothing...
The questioner : The reality... regarding the issue of informing the brothers.
The Shaykh : Speak, we are telling the story.
The questioner : So that they may be alerted to these things.
The Shaykh : Good; and others may be alerted as well.
The questioner : And others may be alerted, and I am not in a defensive position... only in the position of the studying and researching believer, and this is not...
The Shaykh : But in the position of the studying, researching believer or disbeliever?
The questioner : If Allah wills (the Exalted), we hope to Allah that we are among the truthful with Allah, we hope to Allah.
The Shaykh : No problem, but did you believe in this study or...?
The questioner : No, allow me, it is coming one by one.
The Shaykh : Allah is the Greatest! [Everyone laughs!]...
Please proceed.
The questioner : Because... that period of my life was concurrent with studying the noble Sunnah, and this is what established me, by His grace (the Exalted), and the eye and heart did not deviate, by the permission of Allah, regarding these things. So their claim—we return once more—that this etheric body is a subtle body and a transparent essence that moves at the speed of thought, as if on this... if the person calls out, it moves with his etheric spirit by means of a... silver cord attached to the physical body, so it moves in another world and meets the dead, so it roams in Damascus—for example—visits America, and according to their claim, the spirit is actually in that place at that moment due to the speed of its movement, yes, and they also say: how does a living person meet a dead person; this is in the dream and this is in the barzakh (the interval between death and resurrection), so the other vibrations become equal, so it reaches, considering that there is a connection between the world of the spirit and the world of matter, matter is called... which is an electromagnetic fluid that flows from the human body, yes, so it prepares a spiritual atmosphere.
The Shaykh : For this meeting.
The questioner : Ah, for the meeting, well done, so this meeting prepares this electromagnetic atmosphere that equals the vibrations.
Another questioner: Peace be upon you.
Those present : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
The questioner : And when the vibrations become equal, the meeting is successful or failed according to the medium's spiritual capacity; if he is very advanced, spirits are present... he does not descend himself to talk with them.
The Shaykh : He ascends to them.
The questioner : Rather, he sends or they send other people who are actually tasked with conveying the message from our master Isa (peace be upon him), so among these is a person named "al-Baghdadi al-Baji," he is a Muslim who lived in the Abbasid era as they say, and he is responsible for the therapeutic spiritual sessions in this topic, so this person who is "al-Baji al-Baghdadi" served people greatly, one of the great spiritual healers for whom the English government allocated a hall or a section of a hall "..." they have in London, they say about him that a very large group enters him, so they seek treatment from him, they sit in this hall and warm touches flow through their bodies, and after that these people who were healed and those who were cured of a chronic illness come out.
The Shaykh : And those whose illness increased upon their illness.
The questioner : By Allah, Allah knows best... so from another angle, they say about this man that he cured fifty thousand chronic cases!
The Shaykh: Allah is the Greatest!
The questioner : Yes, and so on.
The Shaykh : It requires faith... may Allah firm us with the firm word.
Yes.
The questioner : The English researchers came out with a result that actually now supports something religious.
The Shaykh : And we do not need that.
The questioner : If Allah wills (the Exalted)... if they say we have believed, then they have believed... religious faith is not like this.
The Shaykh: Yes.
The questioner : One studied... "Arthur Findlay," the author of the famous book named "On the Edge of the Etheric World," he says: So after this extensive study of the spiritual healers, such and such, whom the Great Spirit—they called Allah (Glorified and Exalted) the Great Spirit—gave this huge therapeutic capacity; so Isa is a gifted servant and given power from the Great God or the Great Spirit to heal people, and all the words of the Gospel are words that do not connect to a complete spiritual issue... very large associations were established there and they allocated chairs for study in universities "Harvard" and I don't know such and so, they researched this topic extensively, and scholars from physics and chemistry, men known for science, devoted themselves to it, but in reality, there are very weak mediums in the spirits who transmit to them the image they like... among them is an association named "white feathers"; the white feathers they call this, yes, this is actually in the origin of the Catholic church, they say: there is no one after Isa who can... and I don't know... in the same origin of Christianity, so to speak.
The Shaykh : You are learning patience, is that not so?
The questioner : Patience with me because of the heaviness of my speech, or?
The Shaykh : No, not on you, on what you are narrating.
Another questioner : O Allah, do not make us among the storytellers.
The Shaykh : Yes, but you can summarize, is that not so?
The questioner : ... I hope not...
The Shaykh : May Allah bless you with good...
Those present : [Everyone laughs!]
...
Another questioner : Please, let everyone listen so that we reach a conclusion.
The Shaykh: Go ahead.
The questioner : There are laws proposed for them or so they believe, through which they connect with spirits, and among these spirits is a Pharaonic spirit, it was said that it is the woman of "Amenhotep III" and so on, and they narrated many stories about her, but there is a point here in the book that rejects the claim in which the medium you spoke of... and because the spirits do not come by themselves, no one among the scientists... claims that... is the image of the spirit itself, like I compare it... a comparison with reality that it is like a person looking at a screen... so he does not see the actor with his flesh and blood, but he sees an image... this image is actually what they struck... very many.
The Shaykh : I mean, in the manner of how the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) saw Paradise and Hell on the wall of the Prophet's Mosque; without likening, so to speak.
The questioner : ... so as not to prolong the topic... to the conclusion. The topic is undoubtedly longer and extends further to its end, but I have reached the following conclusion:
I tried at one point to investigate the meaning of what the Sufis claim regarding miracles, visions, and healing, and so on. I sat with some of them, but in reality, I understood speech that was almost... it does not differ much from what the Westerners themselves have reached through certain means and intermediaries that lead to that. This is one point.
The second point, and it is the dangerous point in this topic, is the point of the companion (qarin). The companion must be doing his work in this matter and bringing the news. The news... the professor says that these are not news, but in reality... that tomorrow such and such will happen... and so on. They hit things that are very close. They describe the situation in the following way: a person is driving a car. The one driving the car who is at the bottom of the hill sees only what is in front of him, but when he reaches the middle of the hill... he sees other things, things that are very close, so to speak, which they consider to be the case.
Another questioner : ... future or past?
The questioner : No... it is the future, in reality, for them.
Another questioner : That is what they claim.
The questioner : That is their claim.
Another questioner : That is their claim, I mean.
The Shaykh : Those who encouraged this topic were Egyptian writers, among them Dr. 'Abd al-Jalil Radi and Dr. 'Ubayd. They wrote books on this and included our Master Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in this topic. The important thing is that the book is titled "The Spiritual Life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)," and they interpreted the Battle of Badr, for example, with a spiritual interpretation. I will give you an example of this... He said that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his noble Companions were in a complete spiritual state, as the man says.
The Shaykh: Yes.
The questioner : So through glorification and remembrance, electromagnetic currents flowed... and praise be to Allah... so the atmosphere was prepared for the angels to descend...
The Shaykh : What Allah willed!
The questioner : After a supplication, for example... (may Allah be pleased with them all), this is an example of what they say. They cite many incidents regarding how auditory and visual clarity occurred, such as the incident of our Master 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): "O Sariyyah, the mountain, the mountain." They say that our Master 'Umar had visual clarity, and Sariyyah had auditory clarity, and both heard, and so on.
The Shaykh: He did not see it.
The questioner : So these people say that...
The Shaykh : They say: He saw; and he did not see!!
The questioner : The legal evidence for the man is that... (may Allah be pleased with him).
... another legal incident when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood over the well of Badr and said:, so 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was surprised by that and said: O Messenger of Allah, are you addressing people who have been gutted? He said: Sahih al-Bukhari 3976. And it seems I do not know if there is an addition to the hadith: . So from this door, the remaining issue is actually the issue of the vision, the issue of the vision and the vision of Qays ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) which our Master Khalid ibn al-Walid saw. I think the brothers know this.
The Shaykh: Yes.
The questioner : ... our Master Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) was the most eloquent in fulfilling Qays's will to Abu Bakr, so he executed the will to the letter. These are all matters they consider legal and use as a measure, but there is no doubt that I advise anyone who has heard of this, as advice for the sake of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), to stay away from this... because his soul will not be strengthened except by the noble Sunnah... serious matters. From this door—may Allah bless you—you have heard, even though the talk was a bit long, it is fine...
The Shaykh : Well done. Is that all?
The questioner : That is all, my master.
The Shaykh : Where are the answers to the questions you promised us?
Another questioner : ... .
The Shaykh : Did you not tell me to come, come, and so on?
Another questioner : It will come, it will come.
Another questioner : During the talk, he promised that...
Another questioner : ... .
The Shaykh : Now I asked you questions and you said: I will speak about them, of course...
... who has a question, raise your finger? You have taken upon yourself the burden of speaking.
Please proceed.
Another questioner : ... is it permissible for me from the legal aspect to do...?
The Shaykh : The answer: It depends on the nature of the work. If the work is prescribed and in accordance with the Shari'ah, it is permissible; otherwise, it is not. I mean, if he reads something from the Qur'an or the hadiths, or seeks ruqyah (healing by Qur'anic recitation) from others who are scholars, righteous, and virtuous, and does not seek help from the charlatans like those we referred to earlier, then it is permissible. But if he goes to the sorcerers whom you indicate in your speech are the ones who deceived him, then he is seeking help from them; this is not done according to any of the schools of Islam, but rather according to the school of "Abu Nuwas."
Those present : [Everyone laughs!]
Another questioner : ... .
The Shaykh : It is not a disagreement, you hold... the path. If the path he takes to remove the sorcery from him is a prescribed path, then it is prescribed. I told you this; do you think the Messenger took a path that was not prescribed?
Another questioner: No.
The Shaykh : So what is left...? [Everyone laughs!]
Another questioner : But he... ...
The Shaykh : This is a charlatan.
Another questioner : He does not know me.
The Shaykh : Or a righteous person.
Another questioner : ... .
The Shaykh : My brother, he does not know, may Allah be pleased with you, he does not know. But what is your job? You know him, you know him, you know he is on the straight path. You do not ask for yourself.
Another questioner: No.
The Shaykh : You are asking for him, meaning, you who are hearing this now are conveying it to him, so you tell him: Do not go to the charlatans who harmed you, but to those who read something from the Qur'an, something from the supplications of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and advise him to read = -- and peace be upon you -- = to read the two chapters of protection (al-Mu'awwidhatayn) = -- and peace be upon you -- = to read the Verse of the Throne and the like... the sorcerers, the charlatans, with the same sorcerers, this is of course not permissible.
Other than that?
The Shaykh: All right.
The questioner : I would like, first, to begin with a simple critique, like the one I mentioned, which was stirred up by this topic. The medium is weak, and there is lying involved.
