What is the ruling on saying: So-and-so is your wali (close friend of Allah)?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Our Shaykh, is it permissible for one person to say to another, for example, "So-and-so is your wali (close friend of Allah)"?

The Shaykh : I think the least one can say is that it involves exaggeration. The true wali (close friend of Allah) is Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
The student :
Indeed, my protector is Allah, who has sent down the Book إِنَّ وَلِيِّيَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي نَزَّلَ الْكِتَابَ
[Al-A'raf 7:196]
.
The questioner : Come on, Shaykh?
The student : Don't let the Shaykh see you with your left hand, oh ... Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Come on, in the name of Allah, but let's look at the brother Abu al-Abbas; it seems he has a question?
The student : ... came to me ... .
Another student : Do you have something, Abu al-Abbas?
Another student : I am, praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, look at the young men ... .

The Shaykh : Good, Glory be to You, Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.
