What is the ruling on the hadiths of an unknown man for whom Muslim narrated in his Sahih?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: A question regarding ... .

The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner: There are those who accept the hadiths narrated by Imam Muslim through the path of unknown narrators.

The Shaykh: There are who?

The questioner: Who accept and authenticate them.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner: The hadiths narrated by Imam Muslim through the path of unknown narrators, claiming that Imam Muslim’s extraction of them constitutes their authentication.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner: So what is your answer?

The Shaykh: May Allah bless you, this is what the soul finds comfort in, but this can be resolved if there is no text from a trusted authority in the critique and vindication of narrators explicitly stating the ignorance of that narrator for whom Muslim narrated in his Sahih. The principle is to adopt this statement unless there is an exception as I mentioned earlier. In fact, I need you to remind me if I mentioned a narrator of this type. Did you see something, or was it said to you, or so on?

The questioner: I do not remember the narrators now, but there is the hadith of the blind man who came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to excuse himself from the congregational prayer, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made it obligatory upon him. I mean, some of those who say that congregational prayer is not obligatory argue that there is an unknown narrator in the chain.

The Shaykh: Do you remember his name?

The questioner: I do not remember now.

The Shaykh: You do not remember. I mean the hadith that says:
Do you hear the call? He said: So I answered. أتسمع النداء ؟ قال : فأجب
.

The questioner: This is not the hadith of Ibn Umm Maktum.

The Shaykh: Then what is it?

The questioner: It is a blind man, likewise, and Imam Muslim is the sole one to have extracted it. This is the point of dispute between the two parties. Some accept the hadith with this unknown narrator, on the basis that Imam Muslim’s extraction of it constitutes its authentication, and the other party ... .

The Shaykh: In truth, it would have been good to know this man, because he might be of the type discussed earlier, where he narrated not in the main texts but in the corroborating narrations and supporting chains. But I do not recall now that there is another man in "Sahih Muslim." I wonder, if we opened up to the congregational prayer in Muslim now, would this hadith come up for us?
The student: It will come up, if Allah wills.
