The ruling on praying at graves.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In our country, there are many mosques near the shrines and graves of righteous close friends of Allah. Is it permissible to pray in these mosques? And what should we do?

Answer:
Answer: If the graves are connected to the mosques, it is not permissible to pray in these mosques, because they are built over graves. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade praying at graves. He said: "Do not take the graves as mosques, for I forbid you from doing so. The curse of Allah is upon the Jews and the Christians who took the graves of their prophets as mosques." Therefore, one should not pray in these mosques because they are not for Allah; these are mosques of shirk (associating partners with Allah). It is best to call them shrines, not mosques. However, if the graves are separated from the mosques by a road or an open space and are not connected to the mosques, there is no harm in praying in these mosques, because there is nothing prohibited in them.
