What is the method of the religion?

Answer: Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said: "O you who believe! When you deal with one another in a debt for a specified term, write it down. Let a scribe among you write it down with justice." Then He said: "And do not be averse to writing it down, whether it is small or large, for its term. That is more just in the sight of Allah and more certain for testimony." As for a present sale or purchase that does not involve a deferred term: "Unless it is a ready transaction that you carry out among yourselves, then there is no sin upon you if you do not write it down." As for the deferred matter, it is necessary to write it down so that it is not lost, or so that the one who owes the debt does not deny it. If you have a document, he will not deny it; that is, this preserves your right. If you do not write it down, you are the one who is negligent.
