The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: "of the religion," along with mentioning the meanings of religion.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
of the religion من الدين
That is, of the deed for which you are judged and recompensed. The word "religion" is used with two meanings: the first meaning is the deed and the Shari'ah by which people proceed, and the second meaning is the recompense by which the doer is recompensed. From the first meaning is the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
(1) Say, "O disbelievers, (2) I do not worship what you worship. قل يا أيها الكافرون لا أعبد ما تعبدون
[Al-Kafirun 109:1-2]
until He said:
For you is your religion, and for me is my religion." لكم دينكم ولي دين
[Al-Kafirun 109:6]
What is the meaning of
For you is your religion, and for me is my religion." لكم دينكم ولي دين
[Al-Kafirun 109:6]
? It means your deed by which you are religious
and I have my religion ولي دين
It means my deed by which I am religious. From that is His saying, the Exalted:
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam
[Ali 'Imran 3:19]
And from that is His saying, the Exalted:
and have approved for you Islam as religion
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
As for religion in the sense of recompense, from that is His saying, Blessed and Exalted is He:
Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.
[Al-Fatihah 1:4]
And His saying:
(17) And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? (18) Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? (19) It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah.
[Al-Infitar 82:17-19]
The intended meaning of religion here is recompense, for Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the Owner of that day,
the Day of Recompense يوم الدين
that is, the Day of Recompense. And He, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the Owner of the Day of Religion and the Day of the World, but the full manifestation of His ownership only occurs on the Day of Resurrection, when there is no king who is distinguished from the slave, no free man who is distinguished from the bondman, no rich man who is distinguished from the poor man, and no strong man who is distinguished from the weak man.
The Day they come forth nothing concerning them will be concealed from Allah. To whom belongs [all] sovereignty this Day? To Allah, the One, the Prevailing.
[Ghafir 40:16]
So, "religion" is used with two meanings: the first meaning is the deed and the Shari'ah by which a person is religious to Allah, and the second meaning is recompense. From the famous proverbs is "As you practice, you will be recompensed" Which one is intended to mean recompense, and which one is intended to mean deed?
The student: "As you practice" means as you do...

The Shaykh : The first is the deed: "As you practice".
The student: Yes, and the second is the recompense.

The Shaykh :"You will be recompensed"
The student: You are recompensed.

The Shaykh : Okay.
