The virtue of the first row in prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner: Noble Shaykh, is there any report regarding the superiority of the first row? What is meant by hastening to the first row, and praying on the right sides of the rows?

Answer:
The Shaykh: Yes, the first row is superior, and being close to the imam is superior, and the right sides of the rows are also superior. These are virtues. It is said: “If the people knew what is in the call to prayer and the first row, and they could not obtain it except by drawing lots, they would draw lots for it.” In this is a great virtue, because one is close to the imam, hears from the imam, sees him, and follows him, so it is superior to the row behind it.
