The Correct Method for Seeking Knowledge

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
There are no scholars in my country; so what is the correct method for seeking sound knowledge? I know that I want to move to this country and to Riyadh to seek knowledge, but my father does not approve of it. What should I do?

Answer:
Answer: Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said: {And it is not for the believers to go out all at once. But why should not a group from each section of them go forth to gain understanding in religion?}. So if there are scholars in your country, travel to the scholars in their locations. It is not obligatory that you reside with them for the rest of your life; if it is a month, half a month, or a few days, then you return, travel to them again. Today, praise be to Allah, the means of travel are facilitated and travel has become easier than before. They used to travel to scholars from long distances, walking on their feet. Imam Ahmad traveled to Yemen to connect with Imam 'Abd al-Razzaq al-San'ani; he traveled and journeyed to him. They used to travel on their feet and become strangers in lands that were not their own, with nothing with them and no preparation, seeking knowledge. So traveling to scholars is required at all times, and today, praise be to Allah, travel has become easier. You can go at the beginning of the day and return at the end of the day from the farthest part of the world on fast flights.
