How do I make up the prayers I missed when the imam shortens the number of rak'ahs?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This man says, “O Shaykh, I joined the imam in the 'Asr prayer, and I had missed one rak'ah. The imam of the mosque did not pray more than three rak'ahs with his congregation and then said the taslim. The worshippers informed me of this. What is prescribed for me to do?”

Answer:
Answer: What is prescribed for you is to complete the prayer. You build upon what you caught up with the imam and complete your prayer. The 'Asr prayer is four rak'ahs, as is well known. So when the imam says the taslim, you stand up and perform what you missed of the prayer.
