Who is the Saved Sect

Question:
What is the ruling on the disagreement among the distinguished scholars regarding any issue of the matters of Islamic law? And what is the intended meaning of the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that his Ummah will split into seventy-three sects in the end times? And who is the intended meaning of the Saved Sect mentioned in the hadith?

Answer:
My brother, the sect that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) described was asked about. He said, "They are all in the Fire except one." They said, "Who is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Whoever is upon what I am upon today and my Companions." This is the Saved Sect. Whoever is upon the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions, and hastens to follow their path, is from the Saved Sect. And whoever opposes them is in the Fire according to the degree of his opposition to them. Some will be in the Fire because they are disbelievers and will remain in the Fire eternally. And some will be in the Fire because they are disobedient and opposing, and will be in the Fire by way of the warning, because they are disbelievers. They vary in this. Yes.
