What is the role of Muslims toward al-Aqsa Mosque?

May Allah reward you with the best reward for me, for Islam, and for the Muslims. My question is: What is the role of scholars, preachers, and orators regarding the attempts to defile al-Aqsa Mosque, which may even reach its demolition?

Answer:
The obligatory duty is great regarding al-Aqsa Mosque and all the mosques of the Muslims, but al-Aqsa Mosque is one of the three mosques to which journeys are made, and it is one of the mosques of the Prophets (peace be upon them). It is obligatory for the Muslims to defend it with everything they have been given, until they free it from the oppression of the disbelievers and the Jews. This is the obligation of the Muslims in general, not just of an individual; each according to his ability and capacity, whether by speech and clarification, or by contacting the officials and those in authority and urging them to work to free al-Aqsa Mosque. The Muslim strives according to what he is able to do to deny this great evil and to demand the freeing of al-Aqsa Mosque from the hands of the Jews. Al-Aqsa Mosque will not be freed except by the Muslims; absolutely, it will not be freed except by the sincere Muslims. As the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us of what will occur in the end times, that the Muslims will triumph over the Jews and kill them a terrible killing, such that if one of them hides behind a stone or a tree, the stone or tree will call out, "O Muslim, this is a Jew behind me, come and kill him." So relief is coming, if Allah wills, and relief is near. And Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) will not let al-Aqsa Mosque be lost; He will never let it be lost. The deeds of these wretches are not hidden from Him; He does not overlook that, but He (Glorified and Exalted is He) delays them until a specified term. Yes.
