Advice for those who are late for the Friday prayer and the congregational prayer

What is the advice for students of knowledge who are late for the Friday prayer and the congregational prayer?

Answer: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever misses three Fridays out of negligence, Allah will seal his heart." And he said (peace and blessings be upon him): "Let a group of people stop neglecting the Friday prayers, or Allah will seal their hearts, and then they will be among the heedless." Therefore, it is not permissible for one who is near the main mosque where he hears the call to prayer to miss the Friday prayer. Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said: "O you who believe! When the call is made for the prayer on the day of Friday, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave off trade. That is better for you if you but knew. And when the prayer is completed, then disperse in the land and seek the bounty of Allah, and remember Allah much that you may succeed." Rather, it is not permissible for him to leave the congregation for the five prayers. Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said: "In mosques which Allah has ordered to be raised and that His Name be mentioned therein; therein men glorify Allah in the morning and in the afternoon. Men whom trade nor sale diverts from the remembrance of Allah, and the establishment of prayer, and the payment of zakah; they fear a Day when hearts and eyes will be in turmoil." Therefore, it is not permissible to miss the Friday prayer and the congregational prayer for one who hears the call. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever hears the call and does not respond, there is no prayer for him except for an excuse." It was said: "And what is the excuse?" He said: "Fear or illness."
