The Severe Warning for Those Who Abandon Friday Prayer and Congregational Prayer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: It is reported in a hadith: Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) was asked about a man who stands in prayer during the night and fasts during the day, but does not attend Friday prayer and congregational prayer. He said: He is in the Fire. What is the authenticity of this noble hadith?
A: This report is well known from Ibn 'Abbas, and it is authentic from him (may Allah be pleased with him and his father). It indicates that neglecting the Friday prayer and the congregational prayer is among the causes of entering the Fire, may Allah protect us from that.
It is authentic from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:Sahih Muslim 865 Muslim narrated it in his Sahih from Abu Hurayrah and Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), and Abu Dawud narrated it with a sound chain from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Sunan Abi Dawud 1052Hasan Sahih (Al-Albani) And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Bulugh al-Maram 2:308.
Therefore, it is obligatory for the Muslim to hasten to respond to the call for Friday prayer and congregational prayer, and not to delay in doing so. Whenever he delays without a valid legal excuse—such as illness or fear—he is threatened with the Fire, even if he fasts during the day and stands in prayer during the night.
We ask Allah for safety and well-being for us and for all Muslims from all evil.

People must cease to neglect the Friday prayer or Allah will seal their hearts and then they will be among the negligent.
لينتهين أقوام عن تركهم الجُمُعات أو ليختمن الله على قلوبهم ثم ليكونن من الغافلينHe who leaves the Friday prayer (continuously) for three Friday on account of slackness, Allah will print a stamp on his heart.
من ترك ثلاث جمع تهاونا بها طبع الله على قلبهWhoever hears the call for prayer and and does not come (to the mosque for prayer), his prayer will not be accepted from him, unless he has a (legitimate) excuse.
