The ruling on making the intention the night before for voluntary fasting

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q484: The questioner, Umm 'Abd al-Rahman from Wadi al-Dawasir, asks: What is the ruling on making the intention the night before for fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, as well as some of the voluntary days?
A484: Making the intention the night before for voluntary fasting is more complete and perfect; so that he passes through the entire time intending to fast, from the dawn until the sunset. However, if he becomes a non-faster for voluntary fasting in the morning and has not eaten or drunk, and then it occurs to him to fast, he may make the intention during the day.
