The ruling on cupping for a fasting person during the day of Ramadan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q332: The questioner asks: What is cupping? What is its ruling? Does performing it break the ablution and break the fast, or not?
A332: Cupping is a type of treatment, and it is the extraction of blood by means of
the cupping vessel. It breaks the fast according to the correct opinion of the scholars; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The one who performs cupping and the one who is cupped break their fastأفطر الحاجم والمحجوم
. So cupping breaks the fast according to the correct opinion of the scholars; because of this hadith and others. And it also breaks the ablution if a large amount of blood comes out from it, for it breaks the ablution as well.
