Blood coming from the gums
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 14245 )
Q: I am fasting, and while performing wudu' I notice that my teeth are bleeding. I wait until the bleeding stops and then enter into prayer. However, during the prayer, I feel that my teeth are bleeding; I taste the blood in my mouth. Do I have to make up this day?
A: If any blood comes from your teeth while you are fasting, it is obligatory for you to spit it out. If it reaches your throat without your intention, you owe nothing, and your fast is valid. If you intentionally swallow it and it reaches your throat, it is obligatory for you to make up that day. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
