Q: I work as a fisherman, and during the month of Ramadan, circumstances compel me to work during the day. This requires me to dive underwater. Is it permissible for a fasting person to dive, or is it not? And does this result in sin? Please inform us; may Allah reward you.
A: It is permissible for a fisherman to submerge himself in the sea if he is safe from water entering his stomach. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
