Explaining the meaning of the hadith: “Is there no man who would give charity to this man and pray with him?”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q425: The questioner says: I prayed the 'Asr prayer and then sat in the mosque. After that, a man came and asked me to pray with him, but I had already prayed. Should I pray with him or not? And what is the meaning of the hadith: “Is there no man who would give charity to this man and pray with him?”
A425: There is no harm in that, if Allah wills, according to the correct opinion of the scholars.
It is permissible to repeat the congregational prayer, even during the times when prayer is prohibited; because this is one of the prayers with a cause. So your prayer with the person who came and missed the congregation, and praying with him for the sake of obtaining the congregation for his benefit, to gain the virtue, is permissible, if Allah wills, even if this is after the 'Asr prayer. The evidence for this is that when some of the people entered and the people had already prayed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Is there any man who may do good with this (man) and pray along with him.ألا رجل يتصدق على هذا فيصلي معه
Sunan Abi Dawud 574Sahih (Al-Albani)
And by the evidence of those who came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at the Musjid al-Khaif and sat in a corner of the mosque, and did not pray with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When they had prayed, he called them and asked them, and they informed him that they had prayed in their tents. So he said to them:
Do not do so.فلا تفعلا
He ordered them that when they came to the congregation, they should pray with the people, even if they had already prayed in their tents, even though this was after the Fajr prayer.
