A50: Teaching tawhid to young children is the first obligation of a Muslim toward his children; this is by teaching them the correct creed and explaining to them what invalidates it, even if in a concise manner. Praise be to Allah, the creed is studied in schools, institutes, universities, circles of knowledge, and mosques, and it is also delivered through media channels, such as radio and television. So praise be to Allah, this is a very important matter regarding the care of the creed as the first thing; because it is the foundation upon which all other deeds are built. If the creed is sound, the other deeds are sound, and if the creed is corrupted, the other deeds are corrupted. Allah the Exalted said:[Az-Zumar 39:65-66] Therefore, when children reach the age of seven, based on his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Sunan ad-Daraqutni 3:5 And it is known that the prayer is not
accepted except with tawhid, if it is based on tawhid. So children are taught the rulings of prayer, such as ritual purity and covering the 'awrah, and so on, so that they become accustomed to it and grow up with it.

(65) And it was already revealed to you and to those before you that if you should associate [anything] with Allah, your work would surely become worthless, and you would surely be among the losers." (66) Rather, worship [only] Allah and be among the grateful.
وَلَقَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ لَئِنْ أَشْرَكْتَ لَيَحْبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ (65) بَلِ اللَّهَ فَاعْبُدْ وَكُنْ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَOrder your children to pray at the age of seven, hit them for it at the age of ten, and separate them in their beds.
