Naming Someone 'Abd al-Nur
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 19346 )
Q2: Is it permissible to give the name ('Abd al-Nur') to one of the people ?
A2: The names of Allah the Exalted are based on what He has revealed, and it is not established that ('al-Nur') is among His names. Therefore, it is not correct to make the name a slave to Him, so one should not say: ('Abd al-Nur'). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
