Q: If a person and his family performed Hajj, is it necessary for him to offer a sacrifice, or is the fidyah sufficient?
A: If the pilgrim is performing tamattu' or qiran, the hady for Hajj is sufficient for him, and the udhiyah is not obligatory, unless the udhiyah was a bequest, in which case it must be carried out; for the Prophet
(peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer a sacrifice in Madinah with two camels, and when he performed Hajj, he slaughtered the hady he had with him and did not offer a sacrifice in Makkah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
