The Ruling on Complaining About the Decree of Allah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q265: The questioner says: A person is afflicted in this time with a trial, such as illness or poverty, and then he complains about this decree that has befallen him from Allah (Mighty and Majestic), saying: Why am I poor while other people possess great wealth? What is the ruling on this complaining, and what is the way out of it?
A265: It is not permissible to complain about the decree of Allah; rather, he must be patient, be content, and ask Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to relieve him of what he is in. He should not complain about the divine decree and destiny of Allah, because the decree of Allah must be carried out, whether the person is content with it or not. However, if he complains, he loses the reward and becomes deserving of punishment. But if he is content, Allah rewards him for that, and the calamities and events become a good thing for him in his religion and his worldly life.
