I live, praise be to Allah, in complete comfort, and there is nothing to disturb my peace, but I have heard some scholars mention that the default for a Muslim is to be tested according to his faith

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : I live, praise be to Allah, in complete comfort, and I have nothing to disturb my peace, but I heard some words from some scholars about trials, and that the default for a Muslim is to be tested according to his faith, and it was mentioned that among the trials is that a person not be tested...

The Shaykh : What is it?

The questioner : And it was mentioned that among the trials is that a person be tested, so I ask your Eminence for some comment on the matter of trials?

The Shaykh : The trial is a test, and Allah Blessed and Exalted is He said:
And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned. وَنَبْلُوكُمْ بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
[Al-Anbya 21:35]
As for good, the trial in it is that Allah tests a person to see if he will be grateful or ungrateful, as Sulayman (peace be upon him) said when he saw the throne of the Queen of Sheba settled before him:
he said, "This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. قَالَ هَذَا مِنْ فَضْلِ رَبِّي لِيَبْلُوَنِي أَأَشْكُرُ أَمْ أَكْفُرُ
[An-Naml 27:40]
.
As for the trial with evil, Allah the Exalted tests a person with evil to see if he will be patient or complain. If he is patient and seeks reward from Allah, this trial becomes an expiation for him and a raising of his ranks. If he does not do so, this trial becomes a calamity for him in this world and the Hereafter.
The person whom Allah has blessed with financial, physical, intellectual, and social blessings, and whose worldly blessing is complete, must thank Allah for this blessing and look at those who are below him so that the favor of Allah Mighty and Majestic upon him becomes clear to him. If he performs this gratitude for the blessing, he has fulfilled what is required of him and obtained the reward, and even an increase in blessings, as Allah the Exalted said:
And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.' " وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِنْ شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ وَلَئِنْ كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٌ
[Ibrahim 14:7]
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah is pleased with His slave who says: 'Al-hamdu lillah (praise be to Allah)' when he takes a morsel of food and drinks a draught of water. إن الله ليرضى عن العبد يأكل الأكلة فيحمده عليها، ويشرب الشربة فيحمده عليها
Riyad as-Salihin 1396
Do not complain, do not worry, and do not be distressed if Allah Mighty and Majestic does not test you with calamities, for the matter is as I told you: the trial can be with good, and it can be a trial with evil. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. The listener says.
