Crossing the Sirat

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q260: The questioner, Azizah from Algeria, says: We take pride in our Islam and our religion, and we hope to walk on the straight path. I ask you, O honorable Shaykh, about crossing the Sirat on the Day of Resurrection: is it for all of creation, or do only certain people cross this Sirat?
A260: Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said:
And there is none of you except he will come to it. This is upon your Lord an inevitability decreed.وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلاَّ وَارِدُهَا كَانَ عَلَى رَبِّكَ حَتْمًا مَقْضِيًّا
[Maryam 19:71]
, and this is the passing over the Sirat,
so all of creation pass over the Sirat, as came in the hadith. Some pass like the wind, some like a swift horse, some like camels, some run a run, some walk a walk, some crawl on their bellies, and some are snatched and thrown into Hellfire; so each one passes according to his deeds.
