Keeping Falcons in the Sacred Precinct

Fatwa number ( 21908 )
Q: I am among those who enjoy collecting migratory falcons, so we set traps, nets, and bait for them until they fall into them. Once they are caught, we trade in them, or we use some of them for hunting. All of this takes place within the boundaries of the Makkah Haram , so keeping them is within the boundaries of the Haram . Is this method permissible within the boundaries of the Haram ? And is it permissible to trade in them within the boundaries of the Haram if they were kept within the Haram or outside of it? Please issue a ruling, may Allah reward you, and may Allah the Exalted reward you.
A : There is no harm in keeping falcons in the Haram or elsewhere; because they are forbidden to eat and are not considered game. There is no harm in taking possession of them if they do not belong to anyone, and selling them for hunting; because Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Ma'idah 5:4] the verse.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
