The questioner : He says: I am a person of Jordanian nationality residing in the Kingdom. I intended to perform Hajj four years ago and went with my companions to perform Hajj. I intended to perform Hajj and 'Umrah as a tamattu' pilgrim, and after performing 'Umrah, I lost my friends and did not complete Hajj. Is there anything required of me in this case or not, given that I performed Hajj last year?

The Shaykh : There is nothing required of you, because if a tamattu' pilgrim enters the state of ihram for 'Umrah and then decides not to perform Hajj before entering the state of ihram for Hajj, there is nothing required of him unless he makes a vow. If he vows to perform Hajj that year, he must fulfill his vow. If there is no vow, there is no blame on him if he leaves Hajj after performing 'Umrah.

The questioner : May Allah bless you and reward you.
