Q: Please inform us about the correct shaving in Hajj and 'Umrah is it
shaving with a razor or shaving with a machine, and is shaving with a razor better than shaving with a machine, or are they all the same? We ask for your guidance.
A : The criterion is the occurrence of shaving or shortening by whatever tool it is achieved, knowing that shaving is better; and shaving is the removal of hair with a razor or other means. It is authentically reported from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he supplicated for the shavers with forgiveness and mercy three times, and for the shorteners once. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
