Shaving the Head
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Hajj has prohibitions,And among the prohibitions of ihram: shaving the head,By the saying of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He): [al-Baqarah:196] Shaving the head is forbidden for the pilgrim from the time he enters the state of ihram until he performs the first release in Hajj, and until he performs a complete release in 'Umrah. For example, in 'Umrah: If he has performed the circumambulation and the sa'y, what remains for him is shortening the hair or shaving it. In Hajj, if he has stoned the Jamarat al-Aqabah on the Day of Sacrifice and slaughtered his animal, he shaves or shortens his hair. Therefore, it is not permissible for one in the state of ihram to shave his head. If he does so without a valid excuse, he has committed a sin and the expiation becomes obligatory upon him, which is as Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, mentioned: [al-Baqarah:196] Fasting, which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) explained as three days; charity, which is feeding six poor people, with each poor person receiving half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg); and the sacrifice, which is slaughtering a sheep, and the person has a choice in this.
And if it was not intentional, such as if he was ignorant or forgetful, then there is no sin upon him, and there is no expiation according to the correct opinion.
And if he was knowledgeable, remembering, and intentional, but for a valid excuse, such as: if he suffers from a pain in his head and the doctors say: it is necessary to shave the head.
In this case, he shaves and pays the expiation; he shaves permissibly and pays the expiation as you know. And its evidence: The hadith of Ka'b ibn Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he suffered from a condition in his head, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) ordered him to slaughter a sheep, or give charity of three sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) to feed six poor people, with each poor person receiving half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg), or fast for three days.
And do not shave your heads until the sacrificial animal has reached its place of slaughter

فَفِدْيَةٌ مِنْ صِيَامٍ أَوْ صَدَقَةٍ أَوْ نُسُكٍAnd if it was not intentional, such as if he was ignorant or forgetful, then there is no sin upon him, and there is no expiation according to the correct opinion.
