Changing the Intention in Hajj

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first and second questions of Fatwa No. ( 15220 )
Q1: A Saudi citizen performed the obligatory Hajj a few years ago, and that season coincided with standing at 'Arafah on a Friday. A year or two later, I was told that the Hajj for the coming year would coincide with a Monday. I was also told that a hadith was narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to the effect that whoever performs Hajj on a Friday and a Monday, his reward is equivalent to that of a hundred Hajjs on any other days. I wanted to seize this great reward, so I went for Hajj. While we were on the way, we were told that Hajj would no longer coincide with a Monday as we had expected. I asked whether it is permissible for me to change my intention so that my Hajj would be on behalf of my father, who was “killed” before he could perform Hajj . I was told there was no harm in that, so I intended the obligatory Hajj on behalf of my father, meaning the obligatory Hajj for my father. However, I am in doubt about my situation. I also appointed one of my mahrams to throw the stones for me after I had thrown them the first time. My questions are: 1 – What is your esteemed opinion on changing the intention of the Hajj to be on behalf of my father, i.e.,
My performing the stoning on his behalf in the manner I described to you? 2 – If you have any observations, please guide me to what I must do. 3 – What is your view on my proxy performing the stoning for me after I had already stoned in the first round ? 4 – Please inform me of what I must do, knowing that more than a year has passed since both pilgrimages

A1: First: We do not know of any established virtue in the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding performing Hajj on a Friday and a Monday, except that Friday is a day of celebration for Muslims, and performing Hajj on it coincides with the Hajj of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Thus, the one who performs Hajj on that day combines the virtue of Friday, the virtue of 'Arafah , and the virtue of coinciding with the Hajj of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Second: Changing the intention in Hajj from oneself to one’s father is permissible if it is done before entering the state of ihram for one’s own Hajj. However, if the intention is changed to be for one’s father after entering ihram for one’s own Hajj, that is not valid on behalf of the father, and the Hajj remains for you. May Allah accept it from you. Third: It is permissible for you to appoint your mahram to throw the stones for you if performing the throwing causes you great hardship
