One who performed Hajj with the intention of seeing the sacred sites and is in doubt about stoning some of the pillars: what is the ruling on his Hajj?

Fatwa number ( 1129 )
Q: When I reached the age of fifteen, I asked my father to let me perform Hajj with him, showing him that my intention was to fulfill the obligation of Hajj, but my actual intention was not to fulfill the obligation; rather, my intention was curiosity and seeing Makkah al-Mukarramah, and al-Madinah al-Munawwarah, and viewing the sacred sites and other things. As for the obligatory Hajj, I would perform it later, if Allah wills. I know that I completed that Hajj without issue, despite my doubts about a deficiency in stoning one of the pillars. So, should I repeat the obligatory Hajj? I am keen to repeat it as a precaution.
A: If the matter is as you described, that you performed Hajj without issue, and you intended Hajj when entering the state of ihram, and you performed all its obligations, then your Hajj is valid, if Allah wills, and it discharges the obligatory Hajj from you. Your initial intention to view Makkah and al-Madinah and other places has no effect on the validity of your Hajj. It is similar in ruling to intending trade along with Hajj, except that it has an effect on the amount of reward you receive for the Hajj, because you initially intended another intention, and your intention of Hajj accompanied you when entering the state of ihram. You must offer a sacrificial animal for the deficiency in stoning that you are in doubt about, if the doubt is regarding the omission of three pebbles or more; because the original ruling is that it is obligatory, and it is not discharged from you unless you performed it with certainty or strong probability. If you repeat the Hajj as a precaution, desiring the greatness of
the reward, then that is greater for your reward and more complete for your ritual. However, if you did not intend Hajj when entering the state of ihram, but only performed its acts outwardly so that your matter would not be revealed to your father, then your Hajj is not valid; because intention is a pillar of Hajj, and it is not valid without it. It is obligatory for you to repeat it when you are able. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
