The ruling on saying, “The mercy of Allah reached me, so I was saved”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q 86: What is the ruling on saying: (The mercy of Allah reached me, so I was saved from a painful accident), and what is the meaning of His saying, the Exalted:
If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell].
[As-Saffat 37:57]
?

A 86: One should say: “Allah reached me with His mercy, so I was saved.” One does not say, “The attribute reached me.” Mercy and will are attributed to Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, and not to the attribute. And His saying, the Exalted:
(54) He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" (55) And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. (56) He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. (57) If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell].
[As-Saffat 37:54-57]
, means in the Fire. So this is remembering
the favor of Allah upon him, as a form of gratitude to Allah, Mighty and Majestic.
