Zakah on a deceased person's one-third

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first and fourth questions of Fatwa No. ( 17071 )
Q1: Is there zakah on a deceased person's one-third?
A1: If a deceased person's one-third is designated for charitable purposes, there is no zakah on it; because it is for acts of righteousness, and because it does not have a specific owner. However, if the deceased person's one-third is designated for a specific person or persons, its zakah becomes obligatory on the person who designated it for them, provided that its conditions are met and its impediments are absent.
