Delaying the time for paying zakah

Fatwa number ( 20418 )
Q: I would like to ask about the following: The time for paying zakah on my wealth arrives when I am present here, which is four months before my scheduled return, and there is no one to act on my behalf in paying the zakah in Egypt . The wealth for which I am paying zakah is in Egypt , and there is
an interest in paying the zakah myself, as I pay it to some relatives and family, which is a way of maintaining family ties for my deceased father (may Allah have mercy on him). The question is: Is it permissible for me to delay the time for paying the zakah for four months until I return and pay it myself ?
A : It is not permissible to delay paying zakah after the completion of the lunar year except for a valid religious excuse; such as the absence of poor people at the time the lunar year is completed, or the inability to deliver it to them, or the absence of the wealth, and the like. You can appoint some trustworthy people to pay it at its due time and deliver it to the eligible recipients you wish to give it to. It is also permissible for you to pay it before the completion of the lunar year if you see the benefit in doing so. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
