Selling an animal for an animal, equal or unequal, immediate or deferred

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 20290 )
Q: I would like your ruling on one hundred sheep that I bought from a person, and we agreed that I would give him two sheep for each sheep after twenty years, and I would like from
your eminence a ruling on this matter: is it lawful or forbidden? May Allah preserve you.

A: There is no harm in selling an animal for an animal, equal or unequal, immediate or deferred, provided that the delivery of the deferred animal is known in number and in the descriptions by which it is defined, and that the term is known; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) to buy camels for the warriors from the zakat camels when they arrived, so he would buy one camel for two or three. It was narrated by Imam Ahmad and others with a sound chain. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
