Tasbih with the Right Hand
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 19897 )
Q 1: I see some of the worshippers counting their tasbih with the right hand and leaving the left hand, is that permissible? It is one of the seven limbs in prostration for prayer. Also, some reciters on Friday recite Surat al-Kahf, then recite Surat Ya Sin, then al-Sajdah, then Surat al-Rahman, without starting from al-Baqarah and ending in al-Ikhlas. Is that permissible? And regarding the verses of prostration, does one prostrate for every verse containing a prostration or not? And if I hear this verse being recited by someone other than the imam, do I prostrate or not if the reciter next to me who is reciting the Qur'an prostrates?
A 1 : Counting tasbih with the fingers of the right hand is better, and if one counts with the fingers of both hands, that is permissible. Reciting Surat al-Kahf on Friday has some weak hadiths reported regarding its virtue, and some of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) did so, which indicates the recommendation of reciting it on Friday. Reciting Surat (al-Mu'minun) al-Sajdah is recommended in the Fajr prayer of that day along with Surat al-Inshiqaq (Did there come to man...), as for reciting: (Ya Sin) and (al-Rahman) or (al-Baqarah) and (al-Ikhlas) on this day specifically, we do not know a basis for it. And as for
prostration of recitation, it is recommended when one passes a verse containing a prostration, whether in prayer or outside of it, and it is recommended for the reciter and the one listening to him, but not for the one who did not intend to listen. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
