Q9: If the imam begins reciting and I have not finished the opening supplication, should I complete it or remain silent and listen to the imam? And if he bows and I have not finished the verse, should I bow or finish it?
A9: When the imam begins reciting, the follower must listen and not recite the opening supplication. If the imam bows, the follower must follow him, even if he has not finished reciting al-Fatihah; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih Muslim 414a The hadith is agreed upon as authentic.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

إنما جعل الإمام ليؤتم به، فلا تختلفوا عليه، فإذا كبر فكبروا، وإذا ركع فاركعواAnd success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
